Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal is the Chancellor of BML Munjal University. He is playing a key role in creating this unique and transformative higher education initiative in India. He is one of the founder promoters of the Hero Group, India’s premier automotive manufacturing group that has evolved from being the world’s largest bicycle-maker to the largest two-wheeler maker.
Prof. Shyam Menon is a distinguished practitioner of institutional development and renewal at higher education. He was Professor at the University of Delhi in its Central Institute of Education for most of his academic career. He was the Vice Chancellor of the Dr BR Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) during 2008-2018, in which capacity he led a team of scholars and professionals in building from its very inception this public university dedicated to the Social Sciences and Humanities.
Mr. Akshay Munjal An MBA from Pepperdine University, USA and a graduate in BSc (Hon) in Management from the University of Bradford, UK, Akshay Munjal joined the Hero Group in 2006. As the executive director, BML Munjal University, he is the driving force behind this higher education initiative.
Ms. Swati Munjal has vast professional experience in fields ranging from financial restructuring consultancy, to the high-technology products’ business. However, it’s the challenges of instating quality higher-education in India that Swati finds most fulfilling. After years of pursuing other goals, she feels it’s her privilege to give back to the system through education. As President, BML Munjal University, Swati enjoys interacting with young minds, learning more about their hopes and ambitions, and identifying deserving talent for opportunities beyond their financial grasp.
Prof. (Dr) Maneek Kumar is a Professor of Civil Engineering and Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology (SOET). He has earned his UG, PG and Ph. D degrees in Civil Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. His Ph. D research was on Reliability-based design of Structural Elements. His major research interests include reliability-based design, retrofitting and rehabilitation, and Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC). He works on probabilistic and reliability models, neuro-computing and optimization techniques in concrete and reinforced concrete design.
Dr. Pritam Baruah is Professor and Dean of the School of Law. He researches and teaches in the areas of legal philosophy, constitutional law, constitutional theory, and philosophical foundations of tort law. His research specifically focuses on how moral values are applied in constitutional reasoning and the theory and practice of democracy. Previously he was Professor of law at Jindal Global Law School, and has also taught at the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata and held visiting professorships at the University of Ottawa, CUPL (Beijing), Humboldt University, and NLSIU (Bangalore). He has an integrated undergraduate degree in law and social sciences from NALSAR University of Law, a masters in law from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in the Philosophy of Law from University College London. He was awarded the Felix Scholarship for the BCL programme at Oxford, and the Commonwealth Scholarship for his PhD.
