It is a matter of pride to welcome you to this inaugural Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Society (EIS) conference of BML Munjal University (BMU). The conference is dedicated to the theories and practices of entrepreneurship and innovation, how they can enable the start-up ecosystem in the country, and in combination make them a crucial initiative for social good. The conference covers start-up initiatives and invites academic papers from various disciplines such as Engineering and Technology, Law, Liberal Arts, and Management. It aims to foster discussion on entrepreneurship, innovation, and society from around the world for two days of presentations and dialogue to engage communities in solving their social problems, attract impact investments, and build replicable and sustainable models of practice. I am very happy to note that an international conference is being held at the BML Munjal university on a very relevant and topical theme of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Society. Entrepreneurship is gaining very high traction in India, and over the last decade or so we have seen how India has started to emerge as the start-up hub of the world. The future younger generation is catching up with the ways of the world and have started to think more from a ‘job creator’ perspective then being a ‘job seeker’. We at BMU want to cater to the needs of the “tomorrow” and the glory of it seems to be highly dependent on innovation and entrepreneurship, with the society forming its core. To bridge the gap between our future citizens and global scale innovation and entrepreneurship, I’m proud to support and be a part of the EIS Conference. With themes of entrepreneurial pursuits spread across all streams be it law or liberal arts, technology to societal good, I am sure this conference will provide a very relevant platform for healthy and fruitful discussions leading to saleable and scalable outcomes. I am eagerly looking forward to the discussions and the new ideas that will emerge over the two days of April 2023. Today, the world is changing at a fast pace, and the issues occurring in society are more complex than those in the past. To provide a solution to these problems, we need entrepreneurship and innovation through a multidisciplinary approach. At BMU, we embrace innovation and now with the global demands increasing, we are eager to launch an Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Society (EIS) conference for bringing young minds together. EIS conference focuses on sharing new ideas, best practices and hopes for societal improvement. The EIS Conference would be giving awareness on a global scale with academics and entrepreneurs coming together from all over the world. And I am honored to be there with my school and students to be a part of this new age transformation!

It goes without saying that technology has profoundly changed the legal profession in recent years, spurring innovative thinking in unprecedented ways. Entrepreneurial thinking is growing with the emergence of technology-based solutions for legal and regulatory tasks. Apart from solutions, a fresh set of challenges with international dimensions have also emerged, such as cybersecurity, data protection, regulation of AI, and the impact of social media. This calls for specialised knowledge that is scalable, agile, geographically dispersed, and digital in the fields of law, technology, and business. Entrepreneurs are rising to the occasion by working collaboratively across professions, businesses, and organisations. The School of Law has always nurtured innovation, and as the challenges and opportunities associated with technology grow, we are keen to participate in entrepreneurship. The EIS Conference would raise awareness at an international level by bringing together academics, practitioners, and businesspeople from across the world.
