    efficiency– with
    reliability in industry 4.0

“Making things better. Drive efficiency – with reliability

Mechanical Engineering is amongst the most diversified and versatile engineering branches and plays an important role in all aspects of human life. A Mechanical Engineer develops products by taking an idea, developing it into a functional prototype, performing engineering analysis (structural, thermal, vibrational, static, dynamic, etc.), applying manufacturing technologies & production processes for the required form and fit required to perform the intended function, and our graduates are trained to do it all—confidently.

BTech Mechanical Engineering is a very broad course that combines engineering physics, mathematics, and materials science to design, analyse, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. Today’s industry, from the automotive sector to fluid flow dynamics, owes its existence to mechanical engineers. In fact, innovations in mechanical engineering drive the world today, literally. From creating better rig equipment to bigger ships, faster cars, or better everyday products, mechanical engineers help keep the wheels of the industry turning, literally speaking.

In addition to the above, as a part of the curriculum, the BTech Mechanical Engineering students are also exposed to software tools like SOLIDWORKS, ANSYS, etc. as well, which helps them familiarise themselves with the prevalent applications being used in related industries.”

    You asked. We answered.

B.Tech Mechanical Engineering is a four-year undergraduate degree focused on the design, analysis, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems and devices, applying physics and mathematics to solve problems related to energy, motion and force.

The scope of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering is vast, offering careers in diverse sectors such as automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, energy, robotics, and construction, with opportunities in design, production, maintenance, quality control, and research and development.

You should opt for the Mechanical Engineering course at BML Munjal University for its strong focus on providing a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, access to advanced laboratories and Centers of Excellence for hands-on experience, a unique curriculum offering specialized domains like Automobile Engineering and Robotics & Automation and guaranteed internships through its Practice School.

      • Applicants appearing in their class 12 examinations through any of the Boards affiliated with the Council of Boards of School Education should have a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent scores) in each of four subjects, viz. Physics, Mathematics, English and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology and Technical Vocational subjects. For more information, you can visit this page: https://www.bmu.edu.in/courses/b-tech/b-tech-mechanical-engineering/eligibility/

Yes, BMU offers scholarships for the B.Tech Mechanical Engineering programme. For more information, you can visit this page: https://www.bmu.edu.in/courses/b-tech/scholarship-details/

On successful completion of the B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering degree, graduates have multiple career options available in diverse roles in industries such as –

    • Product Design and Development
    • Production and Operations
    • Supply Chain and Logistics
    • Structural, Thermal and Fluids Engineering
    • CAD/CAM/CAE technologies
    • Automation and Robotics
    • Additive Manufacturing

The B.Tech programme at the BML Munjal University is spread across 4 years and divided into 8 semesters.

Throughout the duration of the programme, students will gain invaluable practical experience by applying this interdisciplinary and integrated learning to real-world problems. This will be made possible by way of Practice School, an internship concept. This initiative enables students to undergo meaningful work experience – over a period of four years. Students spend around 28 weeks, or 22% of their total contact hours, interning with a cross-section of the industry. Practice School internships are courses with credit units and the grade so earned will be included in the cumulative GPA.

Yes, the final placement is provided to all eligible students. Some of the top companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Hero Motocorp, Samsung, Synopsys Cultgear, TCS, Mahindra etc (as of June 2020) have already recruited our students so far.

Candidates can apply online to BML Munjal University by logging on to https://admissions.bmu.edu.in/

Career readiness begins right from the first year with Practice School I, where students are introduced to industry practices and workplace culture. Courses such as “The Joy of Engineering” further encourage problem solving and team building from the very start.

As they progress, Practice School II and III offer deeper industry exposure through internships and semester-long projects, often leading to pre-placement offers from employers. Upon graduation, the Career Guidance and Development Cell (CGDC) extends dedicated support for placements with leading recruiters, including Flipkart, MG Motors, Commvault Systems, Hero MotoCorp, Deloitte and KPMG India.

Yes. From the very first year, students engage in hands-on projects and industry-simulated tasks through Practice School I, dedicated labs and project-based learning. These early experiences enable them to apply classroom knowledge in practical settings, serving as a strong foundation and precursor to formal internships in the years that follow.

Yes, continuous support is integrated into every stage of the learning journey. Faculty members and industry experts mentor students not only during classroom discussions but also through Practice School II & III and beyond. The academic framework ensures equal opportunities for students to strengthen hone technical knowledge, communication abilities and professional skills. Moreover, the same discipline-specific tools and technologies used in research are integrated into Practice School, preparing students to confidently take on internships and placement opportunities.
