Making things better.Drive efficiency – with reliability
Today’s industry owes its existence to mechanical engineers. In fact, innovations in mechanical engineering drive the world today, literally. From creating better rig equipment to bigger ships, faster cars, or better everyday products, mechanical engineers help keep the wheels of the industry turning.
The Mechanical Engineering course at BMU helps you solve critical problems by developing products that drive efficiency into our daily lives. From taking an idea, and developing it into a functional prototype, to performing a thorough engineering analysis for its required form and fit—our graduates are trained to do it all—confidently.
Mechanical Engineering is amongst the most diversified and versatile engineering branches and plays an important role in all aspects of human life. A Mechanical Engineer develops products by taking an idea, developing it into a functional prototype, performing engineering analysis (structural, thermal, vibrational, static, dynamic etc.), applying manufacturing technologies & production processes for the required form and fit required to perform the intended function. A Mechanical Engineer develops products by taking an idea, developing it into a functional prototype, performing engineering analysis (structural, thermal, vibrational, static, dynamic etc.), applying manufacturing technologies & production processes for the required form and fit required to perform the intended function.
Mechanical engineering touches every aspect of modern life, right from mobile phones and biomedical devices, to aircraft and power plants. Not just engineering, mechanical engineers deal with economic issues, from the cost of a single component to the economic impact of a manufacturing plant. One of the oldest streams, Mechanical Engineering offers a plethora of opportunities for employment to its graduates.
The B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Programme offered at BML Munjal University is designed to equip students with a unique blend of skill sets in addition to the core engineering knowledge and skills.
There are five specializations offered with the B.Tech ME stream – Automobile Engineering, Robotics & Automation, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Internet of Things.
- Andhra Pradesh / Telangana / Tamil Nadu / Kerala state board candidates applying for the B.Tech Programme must secure a minimum aggregate score of 70% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
- CBSE / ICSE / ISC and candidates from other boards applying for the B.Tech Programme must secure a minimum aggregate score of 60% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
- Valid score of JEE Mains.
- Candidates can also apply by taking the BMUE3 Test.
- SAT or ACT scores are also accepted for the B.Tech Programme.
- Class 12th board examination score accepted for admission and scholarship.
Mechanical engineers play key roles in a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, biotechnology, computers, electronics, microelectromechanical systems, energy conversion, robotics and automation, and manufacturing.
On successful completion of the B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering degree, an Engineering Graduate has multiple career options available in diverse roles in industries such as –
- Product Design and Development
- Production and Operations
- Supply Chain and Logistics
- Structural, Thermal and Fluids Engineering
- CAD/CAM/CAE technologies
- Automation and Robotics
- Additive Manufacturing
The B.Tech programme at the BML Munjal University is spread across 4 years and divided into 8 semesters.
Throughout the duration of the programme, students will gain invaluable practical experience by applying this interdisciplinary and integrated learning to real-world problems. This will be made possible by way of Practice School, an internship concept. This initiative enables students to undergo meaningful work experience – over a period of four years. Students spend around 28 weeks, or 22% of their total contact hours, interning with a cross-section of the industry. Practice School internships are courses with credit units and the grade so earned will be included in the cumulative GPA.
Yes, the final placement is provided to all eligible students. Some of the top companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Hero Motocorp, Samsung, Synopsys Cultgear, TCS, Mahindra etc (as of June 2020) have already recruited our students so far.
