Driving Conversations on Innovation at The Economic Times Annual Education Summit 2026
How can universities play a more meaningful role in driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic progress? This question was at the heart of discussions at The Economic Times Annual Education Summit 2026, where Dr. Davinder Singh, CEO, ACIC BMU Foundation and Professor, School of Management, BML Munjal University, represented the University in a panel discussion and closed-door sessions alongside leaders from academia, industry, and government.
The conversations explored the evolving role of higher education in an innovation-led economy, highlighting the need for universities to strengthen entrepreneurship, translate research into real-world applications, deepen industry partnerships, and adopt emerging technologies responsibly. Participants also emphasised the importance of creating learning environments where curiosity, critical thinking, and experimentation are encouraged as essential drivers of innovation.
The discussions reflected BMU’s academic philosophy of integrating experiential learning, interdisciplinary education, and industry engagement into the student experience. By enabling students to apply knowledge to real-world challenges and encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset, the University continues to prepare graduates to become problem-solvers, innovators, and responsible leaders.
The summit provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and reinforcing the role of higher education institutions in shaping a future driven by innovation, collaboration, and societal impact.
