    Sambhunath Bera

    Sambhunath Bera

    Dr. Sambhunath Bera is currently a Professor of Physics in the Department of Applied Sciences. Dr. Bera is an experimental condensed matter physicist with nearly two decades of post-Ph.D. research experience. His primary research area is surface and interface physics using x-ray scattering techniques. Currently, he is working on nanoscale magnetic thin films and multilayers. He completed his Ph.D. in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics at Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, INDIA under the guidance of Prof. Bhupendra Nath Dev.

    Thereafter, he moved to Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), JAPAN, where he worked as a researcher (2007–2009) in the group of Prof. Yukiko Yamada-Takamura. He then joined the group of Jean Daillant at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA-Saclay), FRANCE, as a postdoctoral researcher during 2009–2010. Subsequently, he moved to Northern Illinois University, USA, to work with Prof. Laurance Lurio as a Research Associate from 2010 to 2014. During 2014–2015, he worked as an Assistant Project Scientist in the group of Prof. Sunil Sinha at the University of California San Diego, USA. He later joined Amity University as an Assistant Professor before moving to BML Munjal University as an Associate Professor.

    In addition to laboratory-based experimental facilities, Dr. Bera has carried out x-ray scattering experiments using synchrotron radiation sources at HASYLAB in GERMANY, European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in FRANCE, Advanced Photon Source (APS) in USA, and Photon Factory (PF) in JAPAN.
