Sania Ismailee is Assistant Professor of Social Science at the School of Law. Her research interests are at the intersection of political philosophy, law, and religion. She is pursuing her PhD from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Delhi (Indian Institute of Technology Delhi). Her dissertation assesses academic discourses around the Uniform Civil Code Debate in India. She was a Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Researcher at Columbia University and a Commonwealth Split-Site Fellow at the University of Oxford. She has written on the Karnataka hijab controversy, comparing Ambedkar’s and Savarkar’s comments on Muslims, and published several book reviews on religion and political theory across journals and blogs. She has presented her work in several national and international forums. Currently, she is one of the editors for the Indian Philosophy Network Blog.
