New Books Explore Gender Mainstreaming and Inclusive Development
Understanding gender and development requires engaging with diverse perspectives, evidence, and lived experiences. Two new books, Gender Mainstreaming and Development and Gender and Inclusive Development, bring these dimensions together to examine how development is understood and translated into practice.
Edited by Prof. (Dr.) Sangita Dutta Gupta of BML Munjal University and Dr. Manjula Menon, and published by Emerald Publishing, the books bring together research and contributions that explore gender mainstreaming and inclusive development across different contexts.
The books were recently launched at a gathering of academics, contributors, and practitioners, including Prof. Bornali Bhandari, Prof.
Jaskiran Arora, Prof. Dipa Sinha, Mitali Nikore, Dr. Payal Kumar, Dr. Indrani Roy Chowdhury, Debalina Chakravarty and Oindrila Dey. The discussion offered an opportunity to reflect on the role of research in shaping more inclusive approaches to development.
For BMU, such scholarship connects research with contemporary social questions, bringing new perspectives into academic conversations and helping students and faculty engage more critically with the world around them.
