    How does a B.Com Degree help you navigate your career in the right direction

    Commerce is a subject that keeps evolving with modern times. The branch of commerce deals with everyday business aspects around us and helps us navigate the market in the best way possible. A B.Com commerce course involves innovative learning methodologies, relevant market trends and global business research. Multiple colleges across the globe offer this course, but only the best colleges offer this course with strong industry linkages and exchange programmes with other colleges.     What is a B.Com course?

    It’s a three-year undergraduate degree course offered mainly as a full-time course, but many colleges offer a distance B.com course. The B.Com subjects comprise is designed to specialize in various commerce subjects for their future higher studies. Apart from BCom General or BCom Hons, several universities offer integrated B.Com courses; BCom LLB, BCom MBA, and CMA.

    This course is divided into six semesters where students can choose elective subjects of their choice in some semesters.     What are the career prospects after the B.Com course?

    MBA: It is one of the most popular courses available for students & one of the best courses after B.Com. The students can pursue an MBA to upgrade their skills and knowledge of the business world. They learn the art of management in all the aspects of business based on the specialization they choose.

    Company Secretary (CS): It is one of the many pivotal job roles in an organization. These professionals are responsible for managing all the legal aspects of a firm/organization. They also take care of a company’s tax returns, maintain tax records, offer actionable advice to directors.

    M.Com: Masters in commerce is a two-year course during which students can attain in-depth knowledge in their specialization subject. It helps them master the concepts they learned during their B.com course. Apart from commerce, this specialization also focuses on accounting, business management, economics, banking & finance, finance & control, taxation, etc.

    A career in BFSI: Aspirants who want to build a career in the BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance) sector or the accounting and taxation sectors should pursue a course in commerce.

    The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA): It is a globally recognized professional designation offered by the CFA Institute. These professionals are valued and respected all over the world. Candidates who want to pursue a career in CFA should invest at least 2.5 years for completing this course. This course is designed to measure and certify the competence and integrity of financial analysts; it is a great career choice for commerce graduates.

    Business Accounting and Taxation (BAT): This is a course that can be pursued after completing B.com. It is a meticulously designed course by industry experts to groom aspirants to become industry-ready for accounting job roles. It is an excellent career option for B.Com graduates. In this program, the candidates get to engage in practical and experiential learning and master some of the most in-demand tools of the accounting and taxation industry.

    Financial Risk Manager: The commerce graduates can opt for this career if they are inclined towards the tasks like identifying and analyzing threats. These professionals are trained to do this job to protect the company assets. They also contribute to the company’s earning capacity and performance or success in the market. Financial Risk Managers can work in sales, private banking, loan origination, credit/market risk, trading, marketing, and financial services.

    Bachelor of Education (B.Ed): This course is a two-year-long postgraduate teaching program explicitly designed to allow students to build a career in the teaching profession. Candidates who have secured around 50-55% in their graduation from a recognized university are eligible for this course—the general course structure of B.Ed. Programs include pedagogy, psychology, policy and leadership, instructional technology, assessment, social justice, special education, curriculum development, and lesson planning.
