India is not only one of the most populous nations in the world, but also the youngest. With 50% of the population under the age of 25 years, the country has the potential to raise a generation of a skilled and well-educated workforce. A young, skilled, and competent workforce is one of the major driving factors of an emerging economy such as India. It is estimated that the dependency ratio in India will be just around 0.4% by 2030 which is much lower than countries like China and Japan. Driven by the mission to manifest the potential of young and bright minds, BML Munjal University (BMU) is a non-profit initiative by Hero Group that aims to foster undergraduate and postgraduate education through our campus in Gurugram.
We are currently offering undergraduate engineering courses (B.Tech) and commerce (B.Com (Hons)), in addition to postgraduate programs like MBA and BBA. So, what makes BMU campus different from other universities in India? For starters, our unique learning environment is shaped and mentored by Imperial College, London. This collaboration has paved the way for creating a unique curriculum and pedagogy that is inclined towards practical and hands-on learning. Since its existence, the BMU campus has transpired into an oasis of learning, a broader outlook, and the development of practical knowledge for students from India and the world.
The exposure we impart to our students has opened new avenues for them, fostered through an interactive and beyond academic campus life. So, here is a glimpse of our educational programs, associations, and curriculum that sets apart BMU campus from its counterparts-
Our Engineering Courses are Engaging & Interesting
We at BMU believe that engineers are problem solvers. So, instead of putting our students in a quintessential classroom set-up, our students spend 45% of their contract hours (which is the highest in the world) on experiential learning, live projects, industrial visits, internships, and lab sessions. Currently, we offer engineering courses in the following verticals –
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Computer Science
- Computer Science & Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
The four-year engineering program for each course is very interactive and engaging. One of our courses christened “Joy of Engineering” is unique. The premise of the course is to facilitate problem-solving. Students are told to work in teams and work out a solution for the problem at hand. They can fabricate a product that could be out of the box and futuristic.
Our BBA program is Co-Designed by Imperial College, London
Carrying forth a legacy of nearly 110 years, Imperial College London is one of the highest seats of learning in the field of Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Performance Arts, and Humanities. Although primarily known for research in the domain of science, the Imperial College Business School which was set up in 2004 is one of the best business schools in the world.
Procuring an MBA degree from Imperial College Business School is ranked 4th in the UK and 11th in the World by Financial Times in 2016. An association with such a premier institute is an honor for us and we take pride in declaring that the BBA program offered at BMU is co-designed by Imperial College Business School. The highlight of this course is to offer our students an integrated curriculum that imparts practical knowledge and skills. Students are taught how to analyze the business environment, devise business plans and work as a cohesive unit that trains them to become thought leaders and innovators.
Our B Com (Hons) program is offered in Association with KPMG
Our association with KPMG and a major accounting and consulting firm makes our B Com (Hons) undergraduate program very different. The program includes 200 hours of training which is delivered by experts from KPMG. As one of the leading financial consulting firms globally, our association with KPMG will open students to industry insights that will come on handy.
Our Placement Cell is Strong and Evolving
Partnering with erudite names in the education, research, and development sector, from day one our students are exposed to a unique and supportive learning environment that prepares them to join the best companies in India and the world. This has made our placement cell very strong and evolving, as we are proud to be associated with names like Aditya Birla Group, KPMG, IBM, EnY, Yes Bank, etc. who accept my students for internships and lucrative jobs.
Our Commitment to Skill Development
In a recent development, we joined hands with Siemens intending to develop a world-class integrated skill development center. The purpose of this infrastructure is to develop skills in students with expertise in engineering and manufacture. This is a big achievement for us to bring the expertise of Siemens, the largest manufacturing and electronics company on board.
For disciples like Engineering, Commerce, and Business, practical knowledge needs to be supplemented with theory. At BMU, we do that so that students become skilled and have a better shot at securing top jobs and positions.
