The origins of Hero Group can be traced to 1956 when Hero Cycles Limited was established by the Munjal brothers, namely Dayanand Munjal, Satyanand Munjal, Brijmohan Lall Munjal and O. P. Munjal. Hero has since become synonymous with two-wheelers in India. Hero MotoCorp (Formerly Hero Honda Motors Ltd.) is the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers. With innovation at the core of its philosophy, the New Delhi (India) headquartered Hero MotoCorp has been at the forefront of designing and developing technologically advanced motorcycles and scooters for customers around the world. It became the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer in 2001, in terms of unit volume sales in a calendar year, and has maintained the coveted title for the past 18 consecutive years.

The Munjal family, promoters of BML Munjal University, have a distinguished track record in the fields of primary education, higher secondary education, medical education, skill training and corporate mentoring since 1964. Through its various initiatives, the Munjal family has educated and empowered over 2,00,000 students in India.

BML Munjal University, founded by the promoters of Hero Group, is a not-for-profit initiative by the Munjal Family aimed at transforming higher education in India by creating a world-class teaching and learning environment. Currently, the university has four schools, namely the School of Engineering & Technology, the School of Management, the School of Law and the School of Economics & Commerce. Through these schools, BMU offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as B.Tech, B.Com (Hons), BBA, B.A (Hons.) Economics and MBA.

Rockman Industries was established in 1960 as a bicycle component manufacturer. Today, the company is an industry leader for Aluminium die casting, machined and painted assemblies. Rockman Industries supply components to renowned motorcycle manufacturers and automobile OEMs across the world. Suman Kant Munjal is the Chairman of the Company and Ujjwal Munjal the MD.

Hero FinCorp, is the finance arm of the automotive company and is one of the fastest-growing Non-Banking Finance Companies (NBFC) in India. Incorporated in 1991, the company is led by Jt. MD and CEO Abhimanyu Munjal and Dr Pawan Munjal is the Chairman.

Hero MotoCorp, the flagship company of the group, manufacturers motorcycles and scooters and holds the distinction of being the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer for the past consecutive 19 years. Established in 1984, the company currently has operations in nearly 40 countries. Dr Pawan Munjal is the Chairman, MD and CEO of the Company.

Hero Electronix, established in 2015, is the Hero Group’s venture into the technology space with a vision to create leading technology businesses emerging out of India. Suman Kant Munjal is the Chairman of the Company and Ujjwal Munjal, the Founder Director.
