BMU ties up with IBM for Business Analytics
August 29, 2025Taking decisions based purely on a hunch is no longer an option in today's complex and unforgiving business environment. A lot of data including Big Data needs to be analyzed to arrive at decisions that take businesses forward. Because of the vast amounts of data available, specialized techniques are needed to make sense of the underlying information. This is where Business Analytics comes in.
Business Analytics uses sophisticated quantitative and statistical analysis as well as predictive modeling to gain insights that will lead to improved business results. It will be indispensable for all large organizations in the 21st century and is also becoming an attractive career option.
We at BMU have always believed in staying up to date with the latest business trends and ensuring that our students have the greatest employability. This inspired us to introduce an with a specialisation in Business Analytics this year. MBA course
At BMU, we also believe in partnering with the best. After a careful analysis of all the options available, we decided to partner with IBM which is one of the leaders in this space. IBM Business Analytics software covers the entire gamut of requirements and includes Business Intelligence, Enterprise Performance Management, Prescriptive Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Marketing Analytics, and Risk Analytics.
To formalize the tie-up, an IBM Business Analytics Lab was inaugurated by Mr. DP Singh, Vice President and Head HR, IBM India, Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chancellor, BMU, and Professor G. Anandalingam, Dean, Imperial College Business School, at the BMU campus in Gurgaon on 21st April.
Under the Career Education programme, IBM will provide relevant software and training to BMU faculty members using various industry case studies. Post the completion of the faculty development programmes, BMU faculty will train MBA students on Big Data and Descriptive Analytics to start with, proceeding to topics on Predictive Analytics. The objective is to enable future business managers with the requisite skills to succeed in any business, industry, or function they choose to be in.
The MBA programmes at BMU have been co-designed by BMU’s academic mentor Imperial College London, ranked 2nd in the latest QS World University Rankings.
Commenting at the inauguration, Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chancellor of BMU said, “Business Analytics is a growing field and is assuming huge worldwide importance. We have worked hard to formulate an MBA course that is relevant to India — one that allows BMU students to become capable managers of the future."
Also commenting on the occasion, Mr. Akshay Munjal, President of BMU said, “BMU believes in collaborating with the best in industry and imparting practically-oriented knowledge which is the need of the hour. The tie-up with IBM will allow our MBA students to gain industry-relevant skills and will improve their employability prospects upon graduating from the University.”
