After long drawn deliberations by 389 members of the Constituent Assembly for 2 years 11 months 17 days, independent India gave itself a political charter called the Constitution of India on November 26, 1949.
The Constitution of India reflected India’s aspirations as a nation and a political community committed to the ideals of equality and fairness.
Every year, November 26 is celebrated as the Constitution Day to celebrate the rights and privileges this sacrosanct document guarantees for all its citizens. On numerous occasions, the foresight of the constitution makers has aided and furthered the cause of democracy in our nation.
This day bears a reminder to all the citizens of the importance that the Constitution of India holds and the perennial duty of the citizens to strive to further the ideals enshrined in it.
On this important day, BMU is celebrating the Constitution of India by calling upon young minds, who are the future of this great nation, to engage with the Constitution through the 1st BMU Inter-School Constitution Debate Competition 2019.
