About Ambassador Dr Deepak Vohra
Ambassador Dr Deepak Vohra is an Indian diplomat, who served as Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs. He was earlier the Ambassador of India to Poland. He is currently Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of India on Lesotho and Guinea-Bissau, as well as on the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils Leh & Kargil. In 2012 he was Advisor to the Government of South Sudan. During his service in the Indian Foreign Service, he has served in France, Tunisia, United States, Chad, Cameroon, Papua New Guinea, Spain, Armenia, Sudan, Poland. In 1995 he was Deputy High Commissioner in Kuala Lumpur.
Prior to his roles in diplomacy, he was an officer on special duty to the Technology Advisor to the Prime Minister of India. He has also been a part of United Nations assignments in Africa. Ambassador Vohra brings extensive insight and expertise on matters of development in developing countries and an understanding of political mechanics in Africa.
He is an Alumnus of St. Columba’s school, New Delhi; St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi; National Defence College (India) and the University of Paris.
