    B. Tech student Shreyansh Anchlia along with the ideation from faculty members Dr. Goldie Gabrani and Nishtha Phutela of BML Munjal University (BMU), a Hero Group initiative, has developed a game called ‘Unlock Me’, to help spread awareness about COVID-19. The game serves both an educational as well as an entertainment purpose. The background music has been composed by another B. Tech student of BML Munjal University, Gurramkonda Vishal Bharadwaj. It is available on all Android phones, running Version 4.4 and above. It is a secure app and asks for no personal information to start.

    National Conference- ETAMS 2020

    National conference on Emerging Trends on Advances in Materials Science (ETAMS 2020) was organized by Department of Applied Sciences, School of Engineering and Technology, BML Munjal University. The theme of the conference revolved around Materials Science, Materials in Healthcare and Biomedical Applications, Materials in Agriculture, Materials for Remediation of water, Air, Soil, Materials in Sensors, Materials for Energy Application and Energy Conservation, Materials in Coating and Optical Applications, Nanomaterials Modeling and Simulations in Materials, Materials in Electronics and Technology and Materials in Cosmetics.

    The ETAMS 2020 was supported by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, EBSCO and Web of Science.

    Outcome Based Education Workshop

    BML Munjal University organized a workshop on “Outcomes Based Education” (OBE) under its workshop series program from 11th to 12th January 2020. It was a train the trainer program where selected faculty members received hands on training from the resource person, Prof. G. Varaprasad on how OBE can be implemented in academic institutions. 23 faculty members participated in the workshop.

    Visor for Masks on 3D printing to tide over corona pandemic

    BMU hosts an entirely student managed 3D printing laboratory with rapid prototyping facility using Filament Deposition Method. A team of 5 Mechanical engineering students have been selected to work with Dr. A.K.Prasada Rao, a renowned metallurgist and professor at BMU to develop a PPE visor which can be manufactured in the BMU 3D printing facility.

    The team worked relentlessly and now ready to report that the visor is in its final stages of its design. We are also aiming to provide additional utilities in the form of Velcro belts to attach to hazmat suits.

    BMU appoints Prof. Maneek Kumar as Dean- School of Engineering & Technology

    BML Munjal University (BMU), a Hero Group initiative, today announced the appointment of Prof. Maneek Kumar as the Dean of School of Engineering and Technology. Prior to this, he has served as Professor & Dean of Students Affairs at Thapar Institute Of Engineering & Technology and was the youngest to hold the post of Professor of Civil Engineering at the Institute, at the age of 34 years. Prof Kumar is a seasoned academician, researcher and academic administrator with experience of more than 27 years. He has taught courses on Mechanics and Strength of Materials to all disciplines of engineering at the Thapar Institute
