In construction management, project management techniques are applied for successful planning, design, and construction of a project, from its beginning to its end.
Why BMU
BMU has a unique curriculum that revolves around the knowledge and skills required for the specializations. BIM (Building Information Modelling), a part of the curriculum is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering, and construction professionals the insight and tools to plan, design, construct, and manage infrastructure more efficiently. Moreover, BMU has multiple collaborations such as Imperial College London, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft at global level and with CBRI at country level which helps student to develop an understanding of recent advancements and developments.
Examples
A Construction manager directs and monitors the progress of construction activities, at times through other construction supervisors.
Construction managers regularly review engineering and architectural drawings and specifications to monitor progress and ensure compliance with plans and schedules. They track and control construction costs against the project budget to avoid cost overruns. They meet regularly with owners, engineers, architects, trade contractors, business specialists, accountants and others to monitor and coordinate all phases of a construction project.

Building a smart city – A city using IT (AI, automation) and communication technology to share information with citizens and for better governance and management of the cities. Singapore manages cleanliness and traffic with thousands of cameras and sensors.
The city is also focused on building wastewater recycling and rainwater storage systems for sustainable management of resources.
